2. ADVANTAGES AND APPLICATIONS
1. 409 stainless steel, an inexpensive model (British and American), is usually used as an exhaust pipe for automobiles, and is ferritic stainless steel (chromium steel).
2. 409L ferritic stainless steel is a chromium steel without nickel, which has good corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, high stress corrosion resistance, magnetism and advantages in technology, beauty and application. This 409L stainless steel has better performance than ordinary carbon steel in long-term use, and the most important thing is that its price is lower than that of austenitic stainless steel containing nickel.
409L stainless steel has strong high-temperature resistance, which can be used in high-efficiency engines, exhaust systems, thermal switches, paddle wheels, etc. in the automotive field, as well as in automotive frames and heat exchangers.
The application scope of 409L stainless steel is constantly being explored. At present, 409L stainless steel is used in dryers, motorcycle exhaust pipes, coal trucks and so on.
